Lighting Grid, Dimming, Control and Lanterns

Large lighting grid, situated over majority of studio, contains fifty four 15A sockets with a further three located on tech panels USL and Auditorium Left. All sixty 15A sockets are hardwired back to the control room where three 24 channel LSC EKO DMX dimmer packs are located, powered by a 100A 3 phase supply. We also have two 3 channel Zero 88 Alphapack 2 DMX dimmer packs, which are portable and run from any 13A sockets. A 100A supply split into 4 32A sockets is also available in the control booth. A Strand Classic Palette 250 channel DMX memory control desk provides live preset or programmable control of the lighting system from the control booth, Auditorium Left or SL. A control panel is located SL to allow control of lighting when DMX is not present. House Lights, Working Lights, and non-dim power for intelligent fixtures are also powered by the EKO’s.

A laptop runs WYSIWYG console edition for the ability to visualise cues, Palette Offline Editor to enable shows to be programmed in advance, and Palette Remote Video to allow control of lighting over WiFi rather than being tied to the desk.

Audio Visual

A Sanyo XP51 4000 lumen projector, suspended from the ceiling, is focused on the white area of the US wall. VGA and composite video connections are located USL and in the control booth, with mini jack and phono audio connections to feed audio to the amps in the control room.

The lighting desk is capable of controlling PowerPoint presentations over Ethernet. We also have ArKaos VJ 3.6 DMX software installed on a laptop, which helps to easily create and control artistic visual presentations, either controlled by the lighting desk or standalone.

Sound

An Allen & Heath GL2400 mixer outputs to 2 Nexo PS10’s flown from the grid, via a Yamaha P5000S (2 x 525W 8R) amplifier, PS10TD controller and a Behringer FBQ3102 2 x 31 band graphic EQ located in the control room rack.

The mixer is ideally controlled from Auditorium Right, where there is a 24 send/4 return multicore from the stage and 12 send/4 return multicore from the control room. If controlled from Auditorium Left, there is an 8 send multicore from the stage, with 4 sends to the control room. If controlled from the control booth, these multicores can be linked in various combinations to provide sends/returns to the stage.

There are 4 Sennheiser EW112 Lavelier and 2 EW135 Hand-held radio mics, with the receivers rack mounted in the control room and aerials mounted on the studio roof. The Lavelier mics can be swapped for MKE2EW Beige hairline mics. We also have 2 Shure SM58 wired dynamic mics.

A Cloud mixer/amp located in the control room rack runs 10 100V speakers for paging/background music/show relay split into 4 zones;

Z1 Foyer (3 speakers)

Z2 Studio 2 (G59) and connecting corridor (3 speakers)

Z3 Main Studio (M90) side entrances (2 speakers)

Z4 Main Studio (M90) rear entrances (2 speakers)

A portable twin Denon CD player can be used for performances and/or as part of the paging system. The Cloud paging mic is located in the control booth.

We also have a range of older sound equipment, available upon request, such as a Behringer Xenyx 1222FX Pro mixer, 4 Carlsbro speakers, 2 effects processors, a compressor and several mic stands. Other microphones include 2 condensers, a drum set, a mix of dynamics, and a budget handheld and 3 budget lapel wireless mics.

Communication

6 Canford Tecpro beltpacks (BP111) and single muff headsets are available, powered by a single channel PSU (PS711). There are also 3 iCom IC-F25SR radios with headsets. One radio can be used with a Tecpro interface (AD913) to link to the wired system.
